Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis burial ground consists of the tomb of Yun Hwan together with another tomb below it. Yun Hwan was born in the reign of King Chungnyeol and died in the fourth month of the twelfth year of King U (1386); he served several kings from King Chunghye to King Gongmin and held the post of prime minister three times. His memorial stone, erected in February 1826, reads in part: "...When his 15th-generation descendant Yun Jae-geon happened to be appointed magistrate of Changwon and came to pay his respects at the tomb, the pine grove remained as before, but the altar stone and the stone pillar had already fallen into disrepair, and the short memorial stone was nowhere to be found... Together with the various descendants in Geoje, we respectfully set up a short memorial stone and re-erect the altar stone and the stone pillar, so as to record the undying traces of our forebear." Yun Hwan's 15th-generation descendant Yun Jae-geon (1769–1833) passed the military service examination in 1805 and served as magistrate of Changwon from August 1825 to July 1826. Today the earthen mound of Yun Hwan's tomb has almost been levelled, surviving only as a slight swelling above the hoseok, the ring of stones laid around the base of the mound, while the surrounding wall is relatively well preserved, though parts of it have partially collapsed. Below Yun Hwan's tomb stands a single tomb, presumed to belong to his son, ringed by a rectangular hoseok; this tomb has no wall or worship platform around it. Yun Hwan's own tomb is bordered by a square hoseok built of thin slate slabs laid flat, and around it stands a wall open on one side, forming a U-shape, built of the same stone as the hoseok, together with a single-tiered worship platform.
