Cheongsong Ochejeong Pavilion
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This pavilion is said to have been built around 1774 by Nam Do-seong, a grandson of Nam Ja-hun, in consultation with various clan members, to commemorate the outstanding filial devotion and brotherly affection of five brothers - Nam Ja-hun, Nam Eung-hun, Nam Yu-hun, Nam Pil-hun and Nam Si-hun - who were great-great-grandsons of Ungang-gong Nam Gye-jo, the ancestor through whom the Yeongyang Nam clan first settled in Cheongsong. The name 'Oche' in Ochejeong comes from the poem 'Flowers of the Cherry Tree' (Chehwa) in the Classic of Poetry (Shijing), and here refers to the five brothers Ja-hun, Eung-hun, Yu-hun, Pil-hun and Si-hun. The building consists of one pavilion and one caretaker's house, which together form a square, ㅁ-shaped layout.
