Andong Suunjeong Pavilion
안동수운정 · 安東水雲亭

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krIt was first built when Geumbo (琴輔, 1521–1586), a scholar active during the reign of King Seonjo of Joseon and known by his pen name Maeheon, was 60 years old. It is a single-row house with four bays across the front and one-and-a-half bays to the side; the present building was renovated by the clan in 1933. The name Suunjeong, meaning 'Water and Cloud Pavilion', is said to have been given because Geumbo, who loved nature, always built a modest pavilion in places of clear water and fine scenery, wishing to keep company with water and clouds, discuss scholarship with fellow scholars, and train younger students there. Although it was renovated in the early 20th century, the building retains the architectural style of its earlier form, and it still well preserves the floor plan and structural style characteristic of 19th-century architecture.
