An Jun-sang Historic House, Uiryeong
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This house is a modern-era hanok built in 1903, the seventh year of the Gwangmu era, and the earliest wealthy farmer's house built in Ipsan village. It stands at the centre of the village; the gate and outbuildings have been lost, leaving only the main hall (anchae) standing. The An Jun-sang Historic House in Ipsan-ri is the birthplace of An Jun-sang, who served as a member of Korea's first, Constitutional, National Assembly. Built in 1903 as a modern-era hanok, it is thought to be the prototype for the wealthy farmers' houses of Ipsan village in the early modern period, as shown by the fact that wealthy farmers' houses built afterwards followed this house's floor plan, structure and decorative technique.
