Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krIgyedang is a study hall where Nam Mong-roe (1620–1681), a civil official of the late Joseon period, taught and studied. The building is a hip-and-gable tile-roofed house with a square plan: the front bay is floored with umulmaru, a grid-patterned wooden floor, while the rear bay contains a heated ondol room. In the left-hand bay of the ondol room, a door frame joined without a low sill, using the onyeongwi mitred-corner technique, carries a gumneol ttisalmun, a vertical lattice door with a solid wood panel at its base, among other features that preserve the building's appearance from the time of its construction.
