This pavilion was built to honour the fidelity of a woman of the Jinyang Gang clan, wife of Gwon Taek. A royal commendation was granted in 1601, the 34th year of King Seonjo, and a memorial gate pavilion was erected in front of Baeyang village; in 1688, the 14th year of King Sukjong, the pavilion was relocated below her grave at Ipseok. The building follows the usual form of a memorial gate pavilion, built as a single-bay structure on a three-purlin frame, but it has several distinctive features in its architectural style and structural technique. It is built in a style combining elements of the ikgong (wing-bracket) and dapo (multi-cluster bracket) systems, with a single-step triple-ikgong bracket arrangement, its beam-shaped bracket arms and supports finely carved with lotus-bud and phoenix-head motifs into an ornate finish. The foundation stones are of an archaic form, carved with column seats, and the joinery throughout is solid and well made. The pavilion is a fine example of the architectural form and features of memorial gate pavilions of the Joseon period.
