Cultural Heritage MaterialJoseon · 1823

The Twin Chungnok records the deeds of the brothers Choe Gang (pen name Sogye, 1559–1614), who led righteous-army (civilian militia) activities during the Japanese invasions of 1592, and his elder brother Choe Gyun (pen name Soho, 1537–1616), together with the facts of the state's commendations of them; numerous records of them also survive in other sources such as the Nanjungjamnok and the Seonmyojungheungji. The Twin Chungnok Woodblocks were carved in 1823 and are important material for understanding the printing techniques of some 180 years ago.
