Danunjaesa is a jaesa, a memorial shrine used for ancestral rites, of the Hyeongamgong branch of the Andong Kwon clan, built in 1484 after the funeral of Hyeongamgong. It was first repaired in the 23rd year of the Kangxi reign (1693) and repaired a second time in the 11th year of the Xianfeng reign (1861). It is a ㅁ-shaped (quadrangular) house of three bays across the front and five bays deep, built with a three-purlin frame structure. According to the records of its repairs, the site is presumed to have originally been the hermitage of an eminent monk; after Magistrate Kwon Gyeong-haeng was buried behind the hermitage, a jaesa is thought to have been built here. As it retains well the floor plan from the time of its construction, it is regarded as important material for understanding the architectural style of jaesa buildings.
