Samsujeong is sited facing north on a ridge in a riverside village where the Nakdonggang River bends, looking out over the water. It was first built in the 1420s, fell into disuse in 1636, and was later rebuilt. It was reconstructed again in 1827 by Jeong Gi-seon, who had just taken up the post of governor of Gyeongsang Province. It was subsequently relocated three times before being returned to its original site and rebuilt there in 1909. It retains its old appearance relatively well, and its floor plan, with a wooden-floored room set in the centre, is a very rare example of considerable rarity value.
