Chungsundang Hall, Haman
함안 충순당 · 咸安 忠順堂

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krChungsundang Hall is a symbolic monument embodying the spirit of loyalty and righteousness. It was built by his descendants to honour Yi Ryeong (1541–1592), who personally led a righteous army made up mainly of commoners and died in battle at its head during the Imjin War of 1592, the 25th year of King Seonjo. Although the hall itself was not built so very long ago, it clearly displays the atypical features of Korea's modern-style hanok that emerged after the Japanese colonial period, and together with the nearby Dongsanjeong Pavilion it allows the characteristics of local architecture in this region to be studied. In recognition of this, it was designated a Gyeongsangnam-do Cultural Heritage Material on 28 April 2011.
