This is the tomb of Bak Se-hang, a gate guard commander who died fighting Japanese invaders in the Second Battle of Jinjuseong Fortress, which took place in the sixth month of the 26th year of King Seonjo's reign (1593). After his death, Confucian scholars of the Jinju region submitted a petition requesting that his achievements be recognised and rewarded, and the state granted this request by posthumously honouring him as a Seonmu Wonjong Gongsin, a title conferred on meritorious subjects who contributed to repelling the Japanese invasion. In recognition of this merit, his spirit tablet is enshrined at Changnyeolsa Shrine within Jinjuseong Fortress. The tomb itself is circular in form, its mound edged and protected by a retaining wall of cut stone. In front of the grave stand a stone offering table and a memorial stele, flanked by a pair of stone pillars (mangju seok).
