Oseo-ri Gucheonjeongsa Temple, Changwon
창원 오서리 구천정사 · 昌原 龜川精舍

Gucheonjeongsa is a historic building constructed about 150 years ago, and its historical, educational and cultural value is very great. It was built by local Confucian scholars and his descendants to honour the memory of Sinam Bak Yeon-hong, who served as a righteous-army commander during the Japanese invasions of Korea (the Imjin War). After the war the state repeatedly recognised his accomplishments, raising him to the status of Third-Class Wonjong Merit Subject, and after his death bestowed on him the posthumous title of Minister of War. The site served not only as a shrine for seasonal memorial rites to the general but also as an educational venue for local Confucian scholars, and during the Japanese colonial period it was where the region's March First Independence Movement was born; as an educational institution of this area it is a place of long history that trained and produced many talented people. In scale it has a seven-bay front, unusual for a jaesil (ancestral memorial hall), most of its columns being round, with a hip-and-gable roof; it is a wooden, tile-roofed building with a gate block at the front. Within the grounds, besides the general's sindobi (a memorial stele erected along the approach to a notable person's grave), stand steles for Yeonghwan and Yeonhwan, commoner-scholar descendants of Sinam.
