Kim Ga-haeng Burial Ground, Changwon
창원 김가행 묘역 · 昌原 金可行 墓域

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krKim Ga-haeng (金可行) belonged to the Seonsan Kim clan. His father, Kim Gun-jeong (金君鼎), served as Jwadaeeon (left royal secretary) under King Gongmin of Goryeo and was enfeoffed as a merit subject who accompanied the king in flight in the Sinchuk year, the twelfth year of King Gongmin's reign. His grandfather, Kim Dal-sang (金達祥), held office from the reign of King Chungsuk onward, served as Jimiljiksasa (a minister of the Privy Council) under King Gongmin, and was later enfeoffed as Lord Hwauigun. His son, Kim Sang-gi (金尙琦), served as a county magistrate (hyeongam). Although the burial grounds of Kim Ga-haeng and Kim Sang-gi have lost much of their original form since they were built, they are judged to hold heritage value: the rectangular retaining stones (hoseok), characteristic of the square-tomb style of the early Joseon period, are well preserved, and the altar stones bear legible inscriptions from an early date. Moreover, the site preserves historical facts that offer insight into the process of Joseon's founding and the social upheavals at the end of Goryeo and the start of Joseon — in particular, the activities of the Goryeo royal family and the forces loyal to the Goryeo dynasty who opposed Joseon's founding.
