Coal Preparation Plant at Cheoram Station, Taebaek
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This facility is a representative example of an industrial complex built with modern materials and construction methods, including reinforced-concrete structures and steel trusses. It consists of 20 major facilities, with the core coal-preparation functions organised into five areas: storage and transport of raw coal, sorting and crushing/transport of waste rock, first-, second- and third-stage anthracite preparation, separation of foreign matter, and machinery supply and repair workshops. It is Korea's first anthracite coal-preparation facility, built as anthracite began to be used in earnest as fuel, and is regarded as a major facility symbolising the history of modern industry in Korea.
