Noan Catholic Church, Naju
나주 노안성당 · 羅州 老安聖堂
Registered Cultural HeritageColonial Period · 1927

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krBuilt in 1927, this building is the first Catholic church in the Naju area and a representative example of modern church architecture in the region. Its original plan was a rectangular, hall-type layout, but in 1957 a transept was added running east–west, turning it into a Latin-cross plan. The ground floor of the bell tower at the front is finished in roughly dressed granite, and a variety of arches are harmoniously arranged throughout the building.
