Jungnimdong Cathedral, Chuncheon

This building represents the cathedral architecture built under the Missionary Society of St. Columban, which ministered to the Diocese of Chuncheon. It is a stone building with a bell tower at the centre of its facade; the length along its longitudinal axis is long in proportion to the building's height and width, and the interior is formed like a single hall, without a row of columns. At the centre of the arch over the main entrance is a keystone carved in relief with a cross motif, adding to the building's grandeur; its architectural completeness is high, and it shows well the character of stone cathedral architecture in Korea in the 1950s.
