Former Jukhyang Elementary School Building, Okcheon
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built in 1936, this building was the first public school building representing the Okcheon area, and the late Mrs Yuk Young-soo is known to have studied here. The classroom ceilings were finished with wooden panelling, while the corridors were left unfinished, with the roof framework exposed as is, creating a richer sense of space. Because it has retained its appearance from the time of construction relatively intact, it offers a good illustration of modern-era school architecture in Korea.
