Built in 1930, this building was originally a power plant belonging to the Daejeon Electric Company. It served as a warehouse for the KEPCO Daejeon branch until 2005, and is now used as a research facility of the Korea Electric Power Research Institute. It has a raised monitor-style roof (soseuljibung) that combines ventilation, natural lighting and formal design, and a two-storey power-plant section is built flush against a three-storey office section. Sturdy steel beams were installed in the interior ceiling to allow power-generation equipment to be moved, and the building shows a high degree of architectural refinement.
