The present church building was begun in 1905 by Fr. Jeong Gyu-ha (Augustinus), who had taken up his post as the second parish priest in 1896, working together with Chinese craftsmen; it was completed in 1907, and its dedication ceremony was held two years later, in 1909. It was the first Catholic church built by a Korean priest, and the fourth to be built in Korea. The presbytery, begun in 1912 and completed on 1 October 1913, was converted into an exhibition hall in 1998. While the exterior walls retain their original form, the window and door frames, floor and roof have been replaced, and since repairs in 1997 it has been in use as a relics exhibition hall.
