Modern Korean-style House in Sinpung-dong, Gimje
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built in 1939, this house belonged to a wealthy man who ran a rice mill in the Gimje area. Because the site is triangular in shape, the main gate was placed at a corner, giving the house an entrance arrangement rarely seen in traditional hanok. The main house (anchae) has an 'ㄱ'-shaped, or L-shaped, floor plan, and glass doors were installed at the end of the toenmaru, a narrow wooden veranda, enclosing it as interior space — features that clearly show the characteristics of a modern hanok.
