Former Seon Gyo-sa House in Junghak-dong, Gongju
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This building was built as a residence for missionaries of the American Methodist Church. It is a three-storey red-brick building in which the stairwell and the floor levels are connected in a skip-floor arrangement, so that visitors climb half a storey up from the entrance to reach the first floor, and go down half a storey to reach the basement. From the early twentieth century to the present, missionaries have carried out mission work in Gongju from this building, and it is also the symbolic site where Yeongmyeong School - now marking its hundredth anniversary - began its education.
