This reservoir was one of the first waterworks facilities in the Daegu region. Daebong Reservoir No. 1 was built at the foot of Sudosan Mountain, and when demand for water supply later increased, Reservoir No. 2 was added. Reservoir No. 1 is a cylindrical reinforced-concrete structure with eleven circular windows set at regular intervals, each framed by a curved decorative border. Several facilities survive in good condition, including an elaborately decorated junction well, where the supply pipes meet, built of red brick and finely dressed granite, together with a chlorine dosing room and a small dome-shaped building.
