Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThe walls of this village are mostly earth-and-stone walls (tosokdam); their lower sections use large, roughly rectangular natural stones, mostly laid in the mesaggi method, a dry-stacking technique without mortar. Above this, stones of around 20cm, smaller than those below, were used on both the inner and outer faces of the wall and stacked in alternation with clay, with most walls finished on top with traditional Korean roof tiles. The traditional walled lane, curved like a bow, blends with the old traditional houses to create a quiet and cosy atmosphere.
