Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis building is a church built by the Army's 6th Corps, under the command of General Lee Han-rim. Although the wooden flooring and roof frame were destroyed in a fire in 1990, the building retains the typical decorative features of a stone church built just after the Korean War, including a bell tower and pointed-arch windows, as well as its spatial character as a single-hall, auditorium-type plan, and the techniques of its granite masonry. Many churches were built of stone after the Korean War, but Pocheon Catholic Church is the only one still standing among those built directly by a military unit.
