Hwarangdae Station is a single-storey building with a floor area of 154.9㎡, with 150m of track on each side. Originally called Taereung Station, it was renamed Hwarangdae Station on 1 January 1958. A station on the Gyeongjeon Line, it was built in 1939 and began operating as an ordinary station on 4 July 1939. The structure is of wood, with an unusual roof form in which the roofline continues down in an unbroken slope. Its layout is divided into a waiting room, an office and a night-duty room, and, as in other station buildings, the waiting room sits beneath the gable. The station is currently closed and not open to the public; its owner, the Korea Railroad Corporation, is reportedly planning to lease it out to the public.
