Igyodong Military Facility of Imperial Japan, Jeju
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built around 1945 with a U-shaped (ㄷ-shaped) concrete structure, this facility is presumed to have been used as a Japanese military communications facility during the Japanese colonial period. After liberation it was used as an ammunition depot by the Korean Army's 1st Training Centre. It bears witness to the history of Japanese aggression, in which Japan, facing defeat in the final stages of the Pacific War, turned Jeju Island into a base of resistance.
