Bongnyeonggak Hall of the Suwoongyo Religion, Daejeon
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built in 1947, this building is one of the three sacred halls (samdan) of the Suwoongyo religion, together with Dosolcheon and Beophoedang. The walls display the understated charm of geutgi dancheong, a plain, line-based style of the traditional multicoloured decorative painting known as dancheong, while the eave boards, rafters and beams show the more elaborate, richly coloured style of dancheong. In the centre of the interior is enshrined, as the principal image, a wooden standing statue of the Amitabha Buddha made in 1937; on the left is enshrined a portrait of Seongdeokgun (Naong Bulsa), and on the right a portrait of Sundeokgun (Suwoon Cheonsa Chullyongja).
