대전 수운교 용호당 · 大田 水雲敎 龍虎堂

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krYonghodang Hall was built in 1948, Jangsil in 1921, the well in 1921, and the protective shelter around 1948. Yonghodang Hall was the private residence of Yi Sang-ryong (李象龍), the founder of Suwoongyo, but it burned down entirely after being struck by lightning in 1940; the present building was rebuilt in 1948. Kept inside are Suwoongyo scriptures and other related records, including the original printing plate of the dharani of the Geumganggyeongtap (Diamond Sutra Pagoda). Jangsil, to the left, was used as the founder's residence and is the oldest building among the Suwoongyo headquarters structures. The attic above its daecheong (main wooden-floored hall) enshrines a Maitreya Buddha, and the kitchen contains a Jowangdan, an altar to Jowang, the guardian spirit of the hearth.
