Taepyeong Salt Farm on Jeungdo Island, Sinan
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This salt farm was built after the Korean War to provide relief for refugees and to increase domestic salt production. It is the largest single salt farm in Korea, created on the tidal flat between front Jeungdo and rear Jeungdo after the two were linked by an embankment; a long, east-west rectangular Section 1 lies to the north, Section 2 lies to the south, and Section 3 runs north-south. The salt-farm area contains a wooden salt storehouse, a stone salt storehouse, workers' quarters, a bathhouse and other buildings, which together with the natural tidal flat and a reservoir form a beautiful, naturally blessed landscape.
