Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis wall is thought to have been built when the village was first formed. It is said to have been made from stones of various sizes left over when the site for Sanghak Village was levelled on the northeastern foot of Duseungsan Mountain. Built using only stone, with no earth fill and no attempt at aligning the rows, the wall blends with the houses to lend the village an air of antiquity. Made and added to by villagers themselves across the generations, it carries a rustic, homespun beauty born of the residents' own aesthetic sense.
