Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a blocking device of the composite block method, used to ensure the safe operation of trains between stations on double-track railway lines. It was installed at Yeongdeungpo Station in October 1905, but because of its low level of safety it was taken out of use in 1932, when the special composite blocker came into general use. It has been on display since 1936, when the Railway Museum opened at the Railway Workers' Training Institute in Yongsan, Seoul, and is a relic of considerable historical value.
