청송 소류정 · 靑松 小流亭

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krSoryujeong Pavilion is the place where Sim Seong-ji, pen name Soryu, lived in seclusion after the Battle of Gameun-ri until his death in 1904, teaching younger scholars and devoting himself to learning. He had been elected commander of the righteous army in the Cheongsong region during the 1896 righteous-army uprising and had taken part in the Battle of Gameun-ri and other engagements. The building has two bays across the front and two bays to the side, with a hip-and-gable roof, a narrow veranda and four-panel folding doors, expressing well the characteristics of pavilion architecture in the Cheongsong region. As the main place of seclusion of Sim Seong-ji, a symbolic figure of righteous-army activity in Cheongsong, it holds great historical value in the history of the anti-Japanese independence movement.
