Built in 1935 to commemorate the achievements of Mrs. Thomas, the Korea mission secretary of the Methodist Women's Foreign Missionary Society, the building was designed by William Merrell Vorries (1881-1964), an American missionary who worked as an architect in Japan. It was originally built as a gymnasium but is now used by the Department of Dance. The building retains its original appearance almost entirely and is in a very good state of preservation.
