Mohyeongwan, Damyang is a kind of storage facility built in 1957 under the leadership of descendants to house Yu Hui-chun's Miam Ilgi and Miamjip Woodblocks — both designated as a Treasure — along with other historic relics related to Master Miam. It carries great historical and social value for having been deliberately planned to protect these relics amid the turbulent social atmosphere following the Korean War, and it is distinguished by its site at the centre of a pond, chosen out of concern for fire and theft, the two greatest risks to the preservation and management of relics at the time.
